I'm going to miss Herndon next year. Not only is it a really nice dorm, but it is completely outdoors so I can always wake up and feel either really good or terrible... guess it depends on the weather too. Anyway, living in this dorm truly was an invigorating experience mainly because you are forced to be outside frequently to go anywhere. There is no air conditioning outside and not much echoing, unless you consider the occasional speeder on the highway or police car, but the overall experience is eye opening. It feels almost like an outdoor adventure within Trinity itself, and compounded with the fact that I came here without knowing anybody made the experience ever more special. I'm not saying that the sophmore and junior dorms are terrible, but what I'm trying to get at is that incoming freshman should look forward to being able to stay in a dorm like Herndon rather than Winn or McLean. Herndon has become a special experience for me and will always be remembered as my new beginning.

After much deliberation, I decided to buy a ps3. Now is the $400 price tag worth it? That is something I probably will never know, but it is much more reasonable than the $500 tag they slapped onto it earlier. The reason I got this is mainly so I can watch bluray movies on my HDTV; however, it also functions as a gaming platform with some extremely nice games on it. Not only are the games nice, but it has free online functions, while the xbox costs me $60 a year, and it also looks pretty nice with all my other stuff in the room. Now that I finally got the system, guess it's time to blow a lot of money on games... or maybe I should be more conservative. I've been having a long conflict with myself on whether I should buy the system and eventually decided to go for it on Friday. Luckily, I heard that the ps3 has a very low fail rate compared to the xbox! I've already lost 2 xboxes in the past year and honestly would be extremely irritated if another console of mine died again.

A car would be nice

While in the HEB parking lot, I saw the best beetle ever. The picture above was taken at the HEB on blanco and 1604. However, it also caused me to ponder why I do not have a car at college. Cars are a necessity because it has grown out of being a convenience. Instead of trying to find a ride to the walmart or HEB< you can drive yourself! Countless times, I have to rely on friends in order to travel to get my bare necessities, consisting of food, water, and movies. Yet, sometimes I wish that I had my own car so that I do not have to rely on others. The knowledge that I could drive myself to anywhere I wanted is a glorious feeling, but I unfortunately am not able to experience it at the moment.

My brother ended up taking the car we shared in high school up to his college and I was left with nothing. At first, I didn't complain. However, the first year of college has caused me to realize what a mistake it was to not fight for the car. Though there is not much to do around Trinity, the fact that we were supposed to share the car yet he has it to himself still irks me. I suppose the world is not meant to be fair but still... sometimes you have to wonder why you never fought for that car.

B Day Fountain throwing

After being ambushed by my hall mates, I was given the choice of being thrown in the fountain or voluntarily walking in... I chose the latter. After in the fountain I always wanted to see what it was like getting on the top and now have a word of advice for those who want to climb the fountain, there are a lot of sharp objects up there. When I say a lot, you really will get cut up badly if not careful. I ended up with two large gashes on my right arms and around 15 cuts on my legs. At first I didn't notice any pain, but after taking a shower I saw the bleeding and felt pain the entire night. It was still an awesome birthday... go Trinity traditions!!!

Need more bookcases

So I got an email today saying that they are doing hall check ups to make sure everything is clean and stuff, and well looking at my mess I realize I really need a maid or something. Totally unorganized and only one bookcase, I have to throw all my stuff on the floor to make space to walk and this is the result. I probably need to plan on cleaning this up soon but... I've been really lazy lately. Maybe I should just go buy a vacuum and suck away all my troubles. However, after much thought and consideration, I have decided that my room is perfect the way it is and the others can complain about the mess :)

I'm kind of a big deal
